As was mentioned before, they will also examine the structure of the house. Is the foundation solid? How is the roof? Are there pests that can damage the house? All these questions – and others – will be on the appraiser’s mind when examining the house. So, keep all of that in mind.
As many of us know, storms have caused water damage to the area. Although they have passed, the damage they left behind could still linger. Check out the water to see if it’s drinkable. You should also look for any mold. The VA will be hard-pressed to offer a loan with major water damage.
