For that reason, according to WYFF, there will be several events in our local area.  Several areas of Greenville County and the mountains of NC will hold events.  However, there is a local event that will be of interest to many.

According to the website, “Clemson University will honor fallen soldiers at a Memorial Day service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Scroll of Honor Memorial.”  The event, which is coordinated by The Clemson Corps, will have several songs, a 21-gun salute and guest speaker retired Lt. Col. Eric Turner.  Turner retired after 32 years of service and graduated from Clemson in 1982.

Parking is available along the Avenue of Champions, and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
