Do you have a child that loves to watch movies and theatrical performances? Do you know a child that would love to be a part of a production? Then, this camp is for you.
The Market Theater Company is a local organization that recently started performing several shows at the Anderson Arts Center. Part of their mission is to share their appreciation of the theater and help people who want to get involved.
In doing so, the company has created a summer camp. The one-week partial day camp will teach children – ages 7-12 – all about what it’s like to work in the theater. It will feature “acting, singing and dancing” as well as children’s games. The kids will also have the opportunity to have a behind-the-scenes experience of being part of the theater. The week will culminate in a performance for friends and family.
The registration can be filled out on their website. It is open until the first day of camp or until it fills up. So, those interested should register as soon as possible.
The Western Upstate has several venues that host theatrical shows and teach adults about the theater. However, this camp is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for your children to gain the knowledge and skills they need to pursue their interest in the theater at such a young age. Parents of theater-loving kids can check it out at the information provided on the website as well as the information below.
