We all know that your home should be in great condition before you put it on the market. After all, you want to make it attractive to buyers.
In yesterday’s blog, we talked about what you need to do inside to make sure your inspection will go well. After all, if the inspection finds things you didn’t clean up, you will have to pay extra to get them fixed. You will probably have to pay even more if they inspector finds it first.
The same holds true for the outside of the house, as well. There are many things you can do on the outside to make your house presentable. This could be deemed even more important as new buyers will likely look at the house as they drive by or will look around the house before they come inside.
So what are the main things you should worry about?
Let’s start with the lawn. Is your grass too high? Are your hedges trimmed?
Make sure you have kept up with the lawn mowing before visitors come over. This also includes cutting down dead tree limbs. Lifeless limbs not only affect the tree. They also affect your house’s scenery.
Next, there’s the roof. Any patches that look old or unkempt will want to be fixed – especially if they are large enough to see from the outside. Fixing them will also help reduce leaks, which will definitely help when buyers look inside and out.
But, you also want to make sure your roof is as clean as possible. Make sure you are showing the effort to upkeep every part of the house. It will work in your favor when making the deal.
Another cleaning issue pertains to the porches and patio. Any outside areas where you may spend time with friends and family should be spotless. Don’t just worry about the windows. You will want to make sure that the other areas are power washed. Doing so will help remove any tough stains that may look unattractive.
