Salads are the perfect meal for a hot summer day

    During the summer, no one can deny that it has been incredibly hot and humid in the Western Upstate.  There are days when you come home and the heat has sapped your energy.  So, you don’t feel like cooking.

    But, you don’t have to resort to your local fast-food restaurant for a quick meal.  There is another option you can prepare yourself.

    Salads are a wonderful choice for a summer meal.  They are quick and easy to make.  Not to mention, they are healthy and may cool you down.

    However, don’t just go with a regular green, tossed, salad.  There are plenty of options to choose from.  While adding onions, broccoli or other common favorites is always a good idea, there are so many other choices you can make.

    Why not grill up some boneless, skinless chicken breast filets?  They make a great salad combination and will add some protein to your meal.

    Cooking up your favorite pasta is another a great idea.  Some rotini or shells go great with your favorites greens.

    You can also combine some of your favorite fruits with your favorite lettuce, spinach and cucumbers.  The combination is a delicious way to add some fiber to your diet.
