Revitalize your entryway with inexpensive additions

Since we’re a week away from the holidays, many of us will surely have family and friends come to visit soon.  The Powell Group at Keller Williams of the Western Upstate of South Carolina has some suggestions to help your guests feel welcomed the moment they walk through the door.

Your entryway should be just as inviting as your home's other rooms
Your entryway should make your guests feel invited into your home

First things first.  Your entryway may seem a bit small.  Why not make it larger?  Of course, you won’t be able to do so physically.  However, you can make it bigger with the use of a mirror.  The reflection of the mirror will give the illusion of a bigger entryway.

Next, how about some flowers?  There’s nothing like the smell of roses or your favorite flower to awaken a room.  By placing a vase or a potted plant, your guests will be treated to lovely scents the moment they’re in the house.

Lastly, don’t forget the lamp.  Entryways are often dim – even in the daytime – because the overhead light is often in the next room.  You can remedy the low-lighting with a small lamp.  It can be used just to light up the room or you can get a fancier one that becomes a conversation piece when everyone comes in.  As long as the area is lit, it’s all up to you.

The Powell Group invites you to experiment with different ways to liven up your entryway.  Remember – this is the first area your guests will see and can often give people their first impression of your home.  So, start them off on the right foot.
