Oconee County residents now have additional help getting rid of litter in their area. With the help of the Keep Oconee Beautiful Association, there is now an app people can use to report litter problems.
According to their website, “Keep Oconee Beautiful Association (KOBA) organizes anti-littering activities focused on education of the public and beautification of our surroundings. KOBA’s efforts directly impact the public’s knowledge of littering laws and facts, which may reduce litter in our parks, roads and waterways”
Using the app is easy. All you need to do is go to www.oconeelaw.com/litter. Once you’re there, all you have to do is give the location and description of the litter you find. As the site tells you, you will not be contacted by a Deputy Sheriff, but you can call them at 864-638-4111 or by dialing 911 if the issue is serious enough.
As we all know, littering is a problem in many areas of the country including nearby areas as discussed in a previous blog. The more we can do to help keep it under control, the better the area will look. After all, most people will agree the less litter there is the more inviting the area around your home will become.
The Powell Group invites everyone to check out the new app and to do your part to decrease the litter in your area. Our team members are here to answer all your housing questions.
