    Oconee County has several Christmas events in December

    Oconee County has several events coming up to celebrate the holiday season.

    Dec. 11 – Dec. 13  and Dec. 17 – Dec. 20 – “The Best Christmas Pagent Ever” is a play by Barbara Robinson that will be performed at the Oconee Community Theatre.  The play depicts a couple attempting to put on a Christmas pageant while dealing with unruly kids.  Tickets are $14 for adults and $8 for students.  Go to for more information.

    Dec. 12 from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. – Come visit the Oconee Appalacian Kids Christmas Party.  Learn about old tradition and help make ornaments while enjoying Christmas goodies and hot cocoa.  Admission is free.  Visit for more information.

    Dec 12 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. – Christmas Open House at the Lunney Museum.  Enjoy the Christmas Exhibit by the Cannon Family Toy Collection and the “chestnuts roasting on an open fire.”  Admission is free and open to the public.  Visit for more information.

    Dec. 13 – Festival of Homes at Chickasaw Point – Get in the holiday spirit by touring seven beautiful homes in Chickasaw Point.  Tickets are $10.  Call Sheila at 972-5585 Maxine at 972-0403 for more information.

    Dec. 15 from  3:30 – 4:30 – Free Santa Picture to Support Toys for Tots – Blue Ridge Bank will host a Christmas Open House at Blue Ridge Bank’s Seneca office located at 118 Bountyland Road.  Families are encouraged to bring a toy for Toys for Tots and receive a complimentary photo with Santa Claus.  All photos will be posted on the Bank’s Facebook page.  Light refreshments will be served.  The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less
