The days have been hot, and – understandably – people don’t want to do much outside. So, it’s time to keep it simple.
July 12 is known as Simplicity Day, and it honors the birthday of Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau was a famous author who wrote several classics including Walden, which discusses living life simply amongst nature.
The Western Upstate of South Carolina has several ways to do just that. Our parks including Sadlers Creek State Park and the park in Lake Hartwell, which has a beautiful view of the waterway, give the perfect opportunity to relax and live life simply for the day. It also gives visitors the chance to reconnect with friends and family while enjoying our local natural views.
We realize it isn’t always easy to get away from the stress of work, school or other things in your life. However, our beautiful area has fantastic parks, incredible sunrises and the perfect way for you to get away from it all.
