Milling and Music will be held at Hagood Mill this Saturday, June 18, starting at 10 a.m. Lots of good music will be featured for the entire family to enjoy.
However, the feature will be the West End String Band – a bluegrass band that puts their own twist to classic tunes we all know and love. They also have local roots with members from local areas including Clemson.
They will be playing classic hits from “The Grateful Dead” as a tribute to Jerry Garcia, one of the bands iconic members who passed away in 1995. Their performance will be held from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Many music lovers – young and old – still love the band, which hasn’t played for several years. However, just turning on “Truckin'” or “Touch of Grey” will surely bring back memories of yesterday that are still enjoyed by many.
In addition, the day’s festivities will feature other singers as well as demonstrations and representatives from local farms throughout the day.
You will also be able to see the sights including the 1845 grist mill that showcases this area’s history while enjoying memories from more recent years.
