Celebrate the upcoming 4th of July with some American classics

As we all know, tomorrow is the 4th of July.  It’s the day that we annually celebrate our country’s independence.  To be sure, many people will be having cookouts and picnics.  So there will definitely be a lot of food for everyone to enjoy.

There are several ideas that you can choose from.  Of course, anyone with a grill will surely be cooking up those hamburgers and hot dogs – or frankfurters if you prefer.  After all, many of us know that the annual Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest will be happening in Coney Island, NY – home of the original location of Nathan’s Famous Frankfurters.  You can always have your own contest with friends and family out in the backyard.

For those who want a healthier menu, you can also create your own fruit salad featuring America’s colors.  Some strawberries and blueberries always work well together.  Add some whipped cream to complete the delicious – and healthier – choice.

Of course, there’s one dessert that almost everyone loves that is perfect for the occasion.  People often say that something is “as American as apple pie.”  So, why not add that to your party, as well?  Sure, apple pie is more often thought of during other holidays such as Thanksgiving or Christmas.  But, Independence Day is also a great time to have this scrumptious dessert.  Add a little cinnamon on top, and some ice-cream on the side, and you’ll have a great-tasting treat.

The Powell Group invites you to enjoy your holiday party with friends and family.  If you travel, do so safely.  While in the area, you may also view any of our beautiful houses.  Our team members are here to answer all of your housing questions or concerns.
